Thames Community Foundation are proud of the number and type of fund that are currently working to the benefit of the local community. Here are some of the funds that are currently in operation.

Sport Relief Fund |
Sport Relief was set up by Comic Relief and BBC Sport to use the power and passion of sport to tackle poverty and disadvantage. Sport Relief will fund work which uses sport and exercise to strengthen communities and provide opportunities for people who are excluded, disadvantaged or marginalised. This may be through low income, social isolation, age, disability, race, sexuality or gender. Priority will be given to small, locally based groups or organisations in areas of disadvantage that have a clear understanding of the needs of their community and are using sport or exercise as a means of addressing these needs.
Community Foundations across the UK are distributing Sport Relief funding. Grants of between £1,000 and £5,000 are available and Thames Community Foundation welcomes applications from voluntary and community organisations working in the London Boroughs of Hammersmith & Fulham, Hounslow, Kingston, Merton, Richmond, Sutton and Wandsworth.

Thames Community Foundation Trustees' Fund |
Aimed at smaller voluntary organisations who may be seeking grant funding for the first time. Funding is available for projects that seek to address the needs of
- Children and Young People
- Problems associated with Addiction
- Adults with Disabilities
- Welfare.
Grants of up to £2000 are awarded to groups based in Hammersmith and Fulham, Hounslow, Kingston, Merton, Richmond, Sutton and Wandsworth.
Applicant groups that have large unrestricted reserves are unlikely to receive funding unless there are clear reasons for holding such unrestricted reserves. Should you fall into this category please telephone our Grants Team for guidance.

The Bigger Picture Fund |
Over the past 6 years Sky has created opportunities for thousands of young people by investing more than half a million pounds into their Sky Youth Action Fund.
Sky has recently launched a bigger fund- The Sky Bigger Picture Fund and once again Thames Community Foundation is proud to be acting as Sky's grant making partner in London.
The Bigger Picture Fund will aim to support small organisations local to Sky's London Head Office and will focus on:
Grants are between £250 -£3,000 and are available to groups based in , Brent, Ealing, Hammersmith & Fulham, Hounslow, Lambeth, Richmond, Wandsworth and City of Westminster.
Other London boroughs will only be considered if endorsed by an employee of Sky and accompanied by a covering letter/email.
The basic eligibility requirements that all applicants must meet are:
- Grant requests to be for AT LEAST 25% of the total project being funded
- Organisation's annual income must not exceed £75,000
- Grant requests to be for between £250 and £3000
- Organisations which have had two grant contributions from Sky must wait for two years to reapply to the Fund

British Airways Community Investment Fund for Hounslow |
Grants of up to £5000 are available for Hounslow based projects that seek to work with local residents to address issues relating to
- Youth Development
- The Environment
Occasionally larger sums may be considered for outstanding projects.
In future there will be two grant rounds a year in May and November.
the next grant round will close on 1st November 2008 and we anticipate being able to advise grant decisions by year end.

Richmond Civic Trust |
Grants are awarded annually to projects within the London borough of Richmond Upon Thames that:
- Seek to achieve improvements to the environment in the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames
- Seek to achieve improvements in the physical character of the Borough of Richmond upon Thames to include the provision of additional facilities for the benefit of the community in the Borough
- Seek through improvements to the environment and to the physical character of the Borough to bring about an increase in the enjoyment, living standards and general well being of local communities.
Grants are currently awarded annually in the spring. Amounts of between £500-£5000 may be applied for with the majority of grants likely be in the £1500-£2500 range.

Kingston Voluntary Action Gift Aid Fund |
This Fund was set up as a unique collaboration between Thames Community Foundation and Kingston Voluntary Action to enable voluntary and community organisations in the Royal Borough to take advantage of the tax benefits that Gift Aid makes available but which are usually restricted to registered charities.
The KVA Gift Aid Fund provides a simple mechanism by which donations to local community and voluntary groups can benefit form the additional 28p in every £ donated which Gift Aid can provide.

Adobe Community Investment Grants |
Thames Community Foundation is proud to be working with Adobe to help deliver the Adobe Community Investment Grants programme.
Adobe is keen to support charitable activity that will help to make the communities around its London, Heathrow Corporate Headquarters better, stronger, and more vibrant places to live, work and do business.
As part of Adobe’s Commitment to Community the company has set up a grant making fund with Thames Community Foundation which is aimed at supporting community and voluntary organisations that address community-specific needs, with an emphasis on the following criteria:
- Arts and cultural organizations with the mission or principal focus on the creation, promotion and exhibition of visual arts, multimedia or video.
- Providing services to reduce hunger and homelessness and provide affordable housing
- Protecting the natural environment and improving public spaces for the enjoyment of the community
- Improving access to electronic information for people with disabilities
Grants programs
The Adobe Community Investment Grants programme will provide cash grants for general operating and programme support costs through a competitive grant application process.
Grant amounts will range from £3500-£5000 and are for one year only.

The 2008 grant round was launched on 4th April 2008 and the closing date for receipt of applications is 18th July 2008.

The Allianz - Petplan Fund |
Allianz encompassing long established local brands such as Petplan have set up this fund to help local community and voluntary groups in Hounslow.
Grants will be awarded to local groups and organisations that are working to meet the following grant criteria-listed by priority:
- Crime reduction-supporting small locally based crime reduction projects and services which help reduce the impact of crime; for example drug prevention and fire awareness.
- Helping people to gain confidence and new skills- building the capacity and skills within the community through training and development. In particular financial, literacy and reading skills.
- Projects which improve facilities and services for children, young people and adults with disabilities.
- Older people; projects which support or improve facilities for older people.
- Environmental projects that conserve or improve bio diversity or which improve community access to and awareness of the environment.
Grants in the range £500 to £1250 will be awarded.
The closing date for applications for the 2008 grant round will be the 30th June 2008

The Wandsworth Combined Charity Fund |
This old established local charity has recently set up this Fund with the Foundation to make small grants to local charities,community groups and voluntary organisations that are working within Wandsworth, with a particular emphasis on the area that comprises the historic Parish Of Wandsworth.
Grants will be awarded to local groups that are committed to meeting one of the following
grant criteria:
- The relief of poverty and or need among the elderly.
- Providing education or training to help residents. irrespective of age, to become better equipped to enter the world of work.
There is no minimum amount for which an applicant group or organisation may apply
but it is anticipated that grants in the range £500 to £1500 will be awarded.
There will be a preference for applications from eligible groups that are established or based within the Parish Boundaries but the deciding factor for eligibility will be the location of the beneficiaries of any project applying for funding.
To qualify for consideration for funding a majority of a project's beneficiaries should live within the defined geographic area of the Fund.

Richmond upon Thames Council for Voluntary Service Children’s Fund Small Grants Programme Fund |
The Fund wishes to make grants to voluntary and community groups delivering or planning to deliver services for children and young people in the London Borough of Richmond.
The aim of the Richmond Children’s Fund is to: - “address the gap in preventative services for children and young people… by providing increased and better co-ordinated services for
children and young people”
The Richmond Children’s Fund Small Grants Programme has two elements
- Grants for the purchase of equipment from £250 up to £2000
Groups working with children and young people in the age range 0-19 (up to 25 for those with disabilities) will be eligible for funding.
Priority will be given to:
- projects targeted at young people 10-13
- projects directed at the following priority groups:
Young carers Children with disabilities
Children looked after The Traveller community
Young people aged 10-13
The Fund will also consider funding groups that are:
- Working with families experiencing the effects of domestic abuse
- Providing parenting support

Developing robust transitions from under 13 to post 13 services with a particular a particular focus on vulnerable groups.
There will be a minimum of 3 grant rounds in 2008/9 and the deadlines for receiving applications will be:
June 13th 2008 September 5th 2008 November 28th 2008

Gate Gourmet Community Fund |
Gate Gourmet is the world's largest independent provider of airline catering and provisioning services.
Gate Gourmet is keen to help local community and voluntary groups in and around their business hub of Heathrow Airport and has established the Gate Gourmet Community Fund with Thames Community Foundation.
Thames Community Foundation will work closely with Gate Gourmet to help support and award grants to organisations that address community needs and meet the following criteria:

Children – supporting projects working with children aged 0-11 years old who are disadvantaged or deprived
Grants will be in the range of £500 to £2000 and will be for one year only.
The closing date for applications for the 2008 grant round will be 1st September 2008.

The Grassroots Grants programme, funded by the Office of the Third Sector, is a key element of the Government’s strategy to build stronger and more active communities by increasing small grant funding to community groups and making them more sustainable.
Grassroots Grants will support small informal voluntary and community groups many of whom depend on volunteers. It may be the first grant for many of the groups that apply.
To apply to Thames Community Foundation, your group must:
- Be a small not-for-profit, third sector voluntary or community group, active in their local community for not less than twelve months before the date of your application.
- Be based in and providing services to residents and communities in one of the seven Grassroots Grants Fund areas.
- Have an income, as shown in the group’s accounts, of less than £20,000 per year taken as an average over the last three years (or over the life of the group if it is less than three years old).
- Be connected with and/or meeting the needs of the local community
- Have a governing document (constitution or a set of rules) that has, as a minimum requirement, the name of the group, its aims/purpose, objects, a dissolution clause, a list of Trustees/Committee members and Trustees and Committee members’ signatures and names of at least two cheque signatories

The Brand Learning
Community Fund |
The Brand Learning Community Fund has been established to support local community and voluntary groups working with adults in the boroughs of Hammersmith & Fulham, Hounslow, Kingston, Merton, Richmond, Sutton and Wandsworth.
The Brand Learning Community Fund will award grants to community and voluntary organisations which support the development of literacy, numeracy (including IT skills), and skills training for all adults aged 19+.
The Brand Learning Community Fund grants programme will provide cash grants in the range of £500 to £2000 for one year only.
Grants will be awarded to help meet general operating and programme support costs, including the purchase of equipment, through a competitive grant application process.
The closing date for applications for the first grant round in 2008 will be 17th October 2008.
