This endowed fund was established in 2006 with an initial sum of £250,000 which was provided by the London borough of Richmond upon Thames.

Thames Community Foundation has been charged to raise at least a further £750,000 in the next year or so. Once £1.0m of permanent Endowed Capital has been raised the Fund will ensure that there is a significant stream of grant funds available, for ever, to support local community groups who wish to improve the built and natural environment in the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames.

Grants of up to £5000 per project are available and at present grant applications are considered every spring.

The first round of grants was awarded in 2007 to six successful local organisations from across the borough.

Active Fund Development is now underway and already a further £100,000 of permanent capital has been raised.

A Development Director with specific responsibility for this Fund is in the process of appointment.
